Raising fine men since 1893, The Scots College is one of Australia's oldest and most respected independent boys schools. Scots Sport has experienced an upturn in recent years, developing programs across all sports that operate at the cutting edge. In rugby, Scots has finished runners up in consecutive years in the prestigious GPS competition and is on the precipice of great things. In last year’s Sevens, Scots were beaten in the semi final of the Cup and, with 'brave hearts and bold minds,' will be aiming higher in this year’s tournament.

AIS, Singapore
The Australian International School has grown from a community of 32 students to over 2600 students over the past 20 years, as it has established itself as one of the most sought-after schools in Asia. Students at AIS are from a range of nationalities, with many Australian expats taking advantage of an Australian education whilst overseas. The AIS team wears the green and gold jumper with pride, and is a competitive outfit in schools sevens rugby tournaments around Asia. They are sure to be crowd favorites as these spirited young Australians return to impress on home soil.

The Armidale School

The Armidale School
Rugby was first played at The Armidale School in the school’s foundation year, 1894, when the First XV included the Headmaster and two teachers. During its history it has relished the opportunity to play against local, fellow GPS and international sides both home and away, and the school is proud to have produced many Wallabies. For the past 10 years, TAS has also hosted the largest primary-aged rugby carnival in Australia. The school is grateful for the opportunity to make its debut at this exciting schoolboy sevens tournament and looks forward to the camaraderie of fellow rugby sevens enthusiasts.

Brisbane State High

Brisbane State High has produced Olympians, Wallaby Captains and government ministers, and can therefore confidently state that it is consistently achieving its aspirational goal of gaining respect locally, statewide, nationally and internationally as a world class public secondary school. BSHS was handpicked to be the first Queensland school to feature at the Schoolboy Rugby Sevens. Plate Champions in 2012, Brisbane will be targeting the Cup in 2014.

Canberra Grammar School Canberra Grammar School
Canberra Grammar School has a strong and vibrant rugby tradition, which is associated with the foundation of the school over 80 years ago. CGS is big on developing leadership qualities and teamwork in its students, qualities that will stand their players in great stead on the rugby sevens field. CGS were Bowl Champions in 2012, and will no doubt arrive again with a team that can compete at any level.

Erindale College Erindale College
Erindale College is a place with high expectations on the rugby field. With strong links with the ACT Brumbies and Tuggeranong Vikings, it is a team with players who know how to run the ball hard and love to tackle. The College runs a Talented Sports Program and Academy, and has developed a strong reputation for sporting excellence. Erindale under-performed by its own standards in 2012, and will be aiming to restore their reputation in 2014.

Lloyd McDermott Development Team Lloyd McDermott Development Team
In 1991, a group of Rugby enthusiasts joined forces with the aim of affecting positive change in the number of young Aboriginal men participating in the sport of Rugby Union. A trust was established called the Lloyd McDermott Rugby Development Trust (LMRDT) to further these aspirations. Lloyd McDermott is now widely recognized around Australia, and to the Schoolboy Sevens as reigning champions.
OTML OTML Schoolboys, PNG
The OTML Cats roam high up in the Star Mountains of PNG where livelihood is dependent on the great OK Tedi Mining Ltd (OTML) Copper Mine. Rugby Union is a new sport in the mining township of Tabubil having only been introduced in 2006, with the birth of schoolboy rugby as recent as 2012. Following the invitation to Scots for this event, a local sevens tournament was staged and an OTML Schoolboys rugby team was selected. The OTML Schoolboys may not have any representative experience at all, but the current squad is loaded with natural raw talent, speed and a great attitude. They are looking forward to entertaining the Sydney crowd and causing a few upsets.
Palmerston North Boys High School NZ Palmerston North Boys High School, NZ
PNBHS is a school was established in 1902, has a population of over 1600 boys and a culture built on hard work. The PNBHS 1stXV play at the highest level of schoolboy rugby in NZ, and produce players of Super 15 calibre by the bucket load. PNBHS is the first New Zealand school to take part in the Schoolboy Sevens and, on recent performances in their national sevens tournament, arrive immediately as tournament favorites.
St Kevins College

St Kevin’s College, Melbourne
St Kevin’s is proud of its reputation as one of Australia’s leading Catholic schools for boys. Rugby commenced in 1963 and has been played every year since. Since VSRU Premierships were contested as Grand Finals from 1991, St Kevin’s has competed in 20 Grand Finals (19 consecutively to 2013) and has won 11 Premierships. There have been four St Kevin's players in Australian Schools teams and several have played in Super 15 sides. We warmly welcome St Kevin’s College to the Schoolboy Rugby Sevens as our first school to represent Victoria.

St Teresa’s Catholic College
St Teresa’s is a relatively young coeducational catholic college located on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. Despite still being in the relatively early stages of development of our Rugby Program, we are very proud of our achievements in our short history. St Teresa's competes in the Sunshine Coast Schools Rugby Competition and last year took out the U18 and U16 Sunshine Coast 7-a-side Rugby tournaments with some very dominant performances. What St Teresa’s lacks in size and strength, they will make up for in skills and speed, and will be hunting an upset or two along the way.

Westfield Sports High Westfields Sports High School
Westfields Sports High is a school that specialises in sport. It certainly delivers on its aims and is consistently newsworthy for sporting achievement on one field or another. In rugby, Westfields sets high expectations for its teams which never fail to be adept, dynamic and determined outfits with the ability to drive fear into their opponents. Westfields boys are big match players, and will have one eye on the top prize at this year's event.
